Teaching children about the estuary is vital for sparking interest and creating a new wave of environmental protectors. With young stewards in our community, we can better protect the future of the estuary and ensure its health for generations to come. The Peconic Estuary Partnership has developed fun worksheets, activities and pamphlets to inspire young minds to respect the estuary and value all it has to offer. If you are looking for something in particular and do not find it here, please reach out to peconicestuary@stonybrook.edu . We will be happy to create something that meets your needs.
PEP is also happy to conduct an estuary-related project or provide a lesson on an estuary-related subject to your students. Please contact valerie.virgona@stonybrook.edu to make arrangements. Whether out in the field or on the grounds of your school, we are happy to discuss and implement ideas that fit best into your curriculum.
