A bioblitz is a community science effort to record as many species as possible within a designated location and time period. The Long Island Coastal Bioblitz allows participants to explore the amazing diversity of habitats and species the island has to offer!
Seatuck is in partnership with Long Island Sound Study, Peconic Estuary Partnership, South Shore Estuary Reserve, NY Sea Grant, and the Long Island Invasive Species Management Area in hosting this bioblitz to better understand the ecological community and biodiversity around Long Island, and then using that information in conservation and preservation efforts!
PEP will be holding a Bioblitz Nature Walk at Cranberry Bog Nature Preserve on June 11, from 10-11:30am. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, and to register for this event!
