Protecting & Restoring Long Island's Peconic Bays
NEIWPCC and the Peconic Estuary Program (PEP) invite proposals from contractors to complete engineering designs and permitting for a habitat restoration project at Meetinghouse Creek in Riverhead NY. The project is anticipated to start on July 31, 2020 and must be competed no later than July 31, 2022.
PEP and the town of Riverhead have identified the Meetinghouse Creek Wetland Construction project as a priority habitat restoration project. In 2019, the Conceptual Design for the site recommended the construction of a 1.2 acre wetland to manage stormwater runoff. When completed, the project will manage stormwater flow and stormwater-derived pollutants, improving water quality and wetland plant and wildlife biodiversity.
The current request is for services to develop complete engineering designs based on the conceptual design and to secure all necessary permits so this project is shovel-ready. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2020.
Proposals must be submitted by no later than 12:00 PM EST (noon) on March 31, 2020. No late submissions will be considered. Applicants must submit their proposals electronically through the NEIWPCC website. Award notification to applicants is expected by April 17, 2020.
To apply and for more information follow this link to the Request for Proposals on the NEIWPCC website.
