Peconic Estuary Program Nitrogen TMDL

New York- On September 27, 2007, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, in conjunction with the EPA coordinator and the Peconic Estuary Program, submitted the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for Nitrogen in the Peconic Estuary Study Area to the EPA for review and approval.  The TMDL was approved on October 1, 2007.

This document will serve as a guide to reduce Nitrogen loading within the Peconic Estuary. It specifically focuses on portions of the estuary which area listed as Impaired Waterbodies under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act (CWA). Please click the following links to review the TMDL and associated documents.
